Handling and Quality Control
Handling and Quality Control
Aral Chemicals follows the internationally accepted rules and regulations of handling organic peroxides.
Due the unstable nature of organic peroxides, in many cases, the production is carried out in appropriate peroxide volumes and all cooling units, pumps, mixers and other critical equipment have duplicates. In the case of failure, the duplicate goes into operation. There are alert systems to notify in case of the set values are exceeded.
Aral Chemicals uses continuous testing to ensure the quality assurance, always meeting TDS values.
Guidelines for Handling Organic Peroxides
- Read MSDS of peroxide before handling.
- Handle with care, do not let packages fall from pallets.
- Keep the peroxides in their specified storage and make sure that they are stored between min and max storage temperatures.
- Stow the packages or pallets in original form.
- Take only the required quantity.
- Do not put any unused peroxide back to its package.
- Do not put any item into the package in order to avoid contamination.
- Do not allow peroxides to contact iron or compounds of iron, cobalt, or copper, metal oxide salts, acids or bases, or acetone.
- Do not put any metal item in contact with peroxides unless metal is passivated.( For passivation procedures you can contact us)
- Do not allow open flames, other sources of heat or sparks, friction, grinding or forms of impact near peroxides.
- During pumping, make sure static electricity is safely grounded.
- Beware of all abnormalities. If you feel some smell, a spill on the ground or temperature failure immediately take action.
- Clean up spills up immediately. Keep spills of solid peroxides wet with water. For liquid peroxides absorb the spill with sodium carbonate, sand or vermiculite. Dispose promptly as hazardous waste.
- Whenever suitable for the process, reduce the sensitivity of peroxides to heat and shock by dilution with inert solvents (e.g. aliphatic hydrocarbons).
- Avoid using solutions of peroxides in volatile solvents. Solvent evaporation should be controlled to avoid dangerous concentration of the peroxide.
- Protect from heat.
- Prevent exposure to sunlight.
- Store peroxides at the lowest possible temperature consistent with their solubility and freezing point.
- Use peroxides with “first in first out ” principal.
- Keep the packages closed.
- Check the temperature and cleanness of storage area periodically.
CAUTION
Do not store liquid or solutions of peroxides at a temperature below that at which the peroxide freezes or precipitates.
